MAJANI’S BIRTH

The origin of Majani taste lies in a small shop in Bologna center. The city had just been annexed to the Cispadane Republic, and occupied by Napoleonic troops. In her Laboratory, Teresina Majani, progenitor of the oldest family of Italian chocolatiers, produces the first delights of the ancient House.

INVENTION OF THE MAJANI SCORZA

From Majani family’s creativity and passion for innovation comes the first solid-shaped chocolate produced in Italy.
Named after its similarity to a tree bark, the "Scorza" is produced with a specially designed machine and becomes a legendary product, still unique today.

1867
A PASSPORT FOR TURIN

Giuseppe Majani obtains a valuable passport to Turin, to buy an innovative steam machine.
He will use it to produce both the chocolate and the electricity to illuminate the laboratory and the house.

1878
MAJANI OFFICIAL SUPPLIER OF THE REAL HOUSE

After Italy Unification, Majani participates to different universal exhibitions, a crossroads for people all over the world, and the stage of global excellence.In 1878 Majani became official supplier of the House of Savoy, receiving the permission to decorate its store sign with the royal coat of arms, still present in the current logo.

MAJANI BUILDS THE "MAJANI PALAZZINA"

Majani grew up, and the family commissioned the famous architect Sezanne a Liberty style building, in central Via Indipendenza in Bologna, where moving their workshop, shop and house.

1911
MAJANI CREMINO FIAT IS BORN

The true wonder of Majani house is born: the Cremino FIAT, in honor of the Belle Epoque luxury object for excellence: the car. FIAT announced a competiton to celebrate the release of the new FIAT Tipo 4 model, and Majani won with its amazing 4-layer cremino, overcoming all other chocolatiers from Turin.

THE “DOLCE VITA”  IN BOLOGNA

After the Second World War, the workshop is forced to temporarily return to the old headquarters, but soon Caffé Majani in via Indipendenza, focus of good chocolate culture, becomes the theatre of the "dolce vita bolognese", hosting famous artists and celebrities.

MAJANI YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW

Today Majani realizes its chocolate masterpieces still following traditional production methods and old recipes, passed on by the family from generation to generation. The company's historical expertise finds application today, as yesterday, in its premium quality products, that still delight Italians palates.

MAJANI RECEIVES THE PARIS UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION AWARD

The Majani Company is awarded as one of the most qualified in Europe, and receives the prize at the Universal Exhibition in Paris.

MAJANI RECEIVES THE VIENNA UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION AWARD

The Majani Company is awarded as one of the most qualified in Europe, and receives the prize at the Universal Exhibition in Vienna.

The Majani Company is awarded as one of the most qualified in Europe, and receives the prize at the Universal Exhibition in Paris.

MAJANI RECEIVES THE MILAN UNIVERSAL EXHIBITION AWARD

The Majani Company is awarded as one of the most qualified in Europe, and receives the prize at the Universal Exhibition in Milan.
